Michelin-starred Chef Presents White Truffle Feast at Azur of Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing

Beijing, 17 October 2017 – The celebrated Michelin-starred Chef Mauro Colagreco will present his new winter menu using Álba white truffle at Azur from 30 October to 2 November 2017.

Known as the “diamond of the kitchen”, white truffle is a rare ingredient which is only available from mid-October to late December every year.  Growing white truffle is very demanding and its limited production leads to its sky-high price.  The name Alba will always pop up when white truffle is mentioned.  It is a small town in Italy which has been regarded as one of the best white-truffle regions in the world since the 19th century.  It is said that only a “star” chef can extricate the radiance of the “diamond” – white truffle.  The strong-flavoured white truffle needs to be espoused with different ingredients to bring out the best of its savour.

Making contrasts between flavours is Chef Mauro’s forte.  This time, he expertly created several dishes to bring out the aroma of Alba white truffle.  His exquisite cooking will boost the taste of this season’s freshest delicacy, including white truffles, seafood and seasonal fruits and vegetables this time.

In addition to the sumptuous wine dinners, Chef Mauro will also give a cooking class on 2 November 2017 to share his cooking technique with guests.  Having a chance to learn from the world-class chef is as good as enjoying the delicacies he prepares.

About Chef Mauro Colagreco
Italo-Argentinian Chef Mauro Colagreco grew up in a family where fine cuisine always plays a part in the atmosphere.  Having travelled widely to savour various culinary traditions and having worked with renowned restaurateurs and chefs, Chef Mauro established his own Mirazur restaurant in 2006 in Menton and was awarded his first Michelin star after just 10 months of opening.  In 2009, Mirazur became one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in San Pellegrino.  In 2012, Chef Mauro was awarded his second Michelin star.  At the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017, Mirazur leaped from sixth to fourth place.
