Naan – Flavours of India

Hot Gulab Jamun

Ingredients (recipe for 12 portions)

  • 500g milk powder
  • 200g butter
  • 20g green cardamom powder
  • 50g pistachios
  • 20g almonds
  • 0.5g saffron
  • 250g sugar
  • 10ml kewara water
  • 200g cooking oil

Method

  1. Combine water and sugar and cook into a syrup.
  2. In a pan, toss milk powder and melted butter together until crumbly. 
  3. Put aside to cool.
  4. Add cardamom, pistachio, saffron, almond and kewara water into the milk powder mix and divide into 12 balls.
  5. Deep-fry until golden brown and serve with warm sugar syrup.
