Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo Presents “COULEURS D’ÉTÉ” By Michelin-Starred Chef Pascal Aussignac

Tokyo, 3 June 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo will welcome esteemed Chef Pascal Aussignac from 25 to 27 July 2014 for a culinary promotion entitled “Couleurs d’été” (Summer Colours) at its contemporary Italian Restaurant Piacere, as part of a series of events by Luxury Asia Organisation (,.  Complementing the colours of Aussignac’s cuisine, guests will dine amidst floral creations by Nicolai Bergmann Flowers and Design (

The chef at London’s renowned Michelin-starred restaurant, Club Gascon (, Aussignac specialises in southern French cuisine inspired by flowers.  His forte consists of foie gras, duck, cassoulet and confit served with Armagnac or selected wines, such as Madiran AOC and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh AOC from Gascony.

Chef Aussignac’s flair is witnessed by his success at Club Gascon, which won him wide recognition and numerous awards, including Best New Restaurant (Time Out, London), Restaurant of the Year (AA Guide and Good Food Guide), Best French Restaurant (Hotel and Restaurant Awards) and Restaurant of the Year (The Caterer Magazine).

His creative style combines the world of food with that of flowers, as he shapes his creations into vivid works of art that dazzle the customer with illusions of petals, roses and delicate blossoms.

His work at Club Gascon has seen him build a small empire of French eateries across the British capital, including Cellar Gascon, romantic bistro Comptoir Gascon, Le Cercle, Cigalon and Baranis

Chef Aussignac will present “Couleurs d’été” with a lunch course from Friday to Sunday, 25 to 27 July 2014, at the hotel’s signature Italian restaurant, Piacere.  On 25 and 26 July 2014, he will create a five-course dinner showcasing his unique and imaginative take on southern French cuisine.

About Pascal Aussignac
Chef Aussignac may have hailed from Toulouse, France, but he has made his name across the Channel in London, where he has built the reputation of Club Gascon since 1998.  Dedicated to seasonal dishes from France, the flagship restaurant has won many awards, including one Michelin star, and has prompted Chef Aussignac to build a series of partner restaurants across the British capital city.

About Piacere
