Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu has appointed Chef Allan Tse executive Chinese chef to head the Chinese kitchen operations for the newly-opened 482-room hotel and Shangri-La’s signature restaurant, Shang Palace, which serves Cantonese, regional Shandong Lu and the local Kong family cuisine.
Hailing from Hong Kong, Chef Tse amassed a wealth of experience from over 40 years of culinary experience in various countries in Asia and Middle East, including Sri Lanka, Thailand, Korea, Dubai, China and Hong Kong. He has also worked at Makati Shangri-La, Manila in the Philippines and Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Chef Tse will oversee the kitchen operations of the 270-seater Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu, including its Chinese banquet operations. He will also maintain strict hygiene and culinary standards, introduce contemporary and creative food concepts and develop talents as part of his daily tasks.
An avid fan of fishing, Chef Tse enjoys travelling and cooking for his family during his free time. In an effort to expand on his knowledge for fine cuisine, he is not a stranger to travelling for hours to find the best local cuisine in the country he is visiting.
As part of the opening special, Shang Palace will feature a signature dish at a special price daily.
Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu will open on 1 August 2013 in the heart of the city centre, a 15-minute walking distance to the UNESCO world heritage site, Temple of Confucius, and a 20-minute drive to the Qufu high-speed train station.
