Guest Chef For “6 In 1” Promotion at Spice Market Café, Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang

Chef Seth Shantanu, Chef De Cuisine from, Naan, Flavours of India, the award-winning Indian Restaurant, Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, Sabah will be a guest chef at Spice Market Café, from Sunday, 25 May to Thursday, 29 May, 2014 for the outlet’s “6 in 1” Promotion. Rasa Ria Resort is a sister property of Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa, Penang. Naan, Flavours of India, won the Best Indian Restaurant in the 18th Malaysia Tourism Awards 2012/2013.

Chef Seth, a native of Jamshedpur, India, started off as a Management Trainee in 1999 at Masarovar Hotel, India. In 2000, he was appointed the Trainee Chef at the Country Club India Limited, India). In 2003, he was a Chef the Partie specializing in Traditional Indian Cuisine at Esphahan Restaurant, The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra, India. In 2010, Seth went over to Tanzania as Kitchen Executive at Kempinski Kilimanjaro Hotel, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. In 2011, he moved over to Hyatt Regency Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania as Chef de Cuisine. His current and latest position is as Chef de Cuisine at Naan, Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort in Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Chef Seth’s cooking will be featured in the Indian Section of the buffet, which comprises of one of the six speciality cuisines i.e. Japanese, Western, Indian, Chinese, Malay and desserts, additional treats on top of the normal buffet spread.

Chef Seth will be featuring dishes like sarson machchi - fish cooked in a black mustard sauce with green chilly, ginger and garlic spiked with lime, traditional butter chicken - boneless chicken leg in rich tomato gravy flavored with ginger, fresh green chilly and fenugreek, kesari murg tikka - boneless chicken with yoghurt, chilly and saffron marinade, cooked in the tandoor oven and aloo matar ki tikki -pan fried potato patties stuffed with green peas.

Spice Market Café’s International Buffet Dinner is ongoing weekly from Sunday to Thursday and priced at RM 128++ per adult and RM 64++ per child. Guests will pay only 60 per cent of the actual menu price when dining at Spice Market Café on Monday and Tuesday. During this time, they can experience the “6 in 1 + P60” promotion at a value-for-money price.
