Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta opens its newest dining venue, the SATOO Garden restaurant and lounge, in January 2013. Carrying the tag line of “Let Your Inside Out,” the venue reflects a marriage of the hotel’s buffet restaurant and contemporary urban lifestyle in an understated, natural ambience. SATOO Garden offers the concept of a semi-outdoor, hip and chic place to see and be seen in style. The lounge will officially be open for the public on 30 January 2013.
With a view of the hotel’s lush garden and butterfly-shaped pool, SATOO Garden restaurant and lounge is the place for guests to relax and unwind while enjoying the surroundings. The venue offers all-day dining and, as an extension to the SATOO restaurant, offers an open-kitchen international buffet during breakfast, lunch and dinner time.
Entering the venue, guests will be greeted by the soothing sounds of water drizzling and flowing. As the evening rolls, a three-piece acoustic band will serenade guests with sultry tunes to accompany the epicurean indulgence prepared by Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta’s culinary team. A line of white rattan couches placed outdoors evokes an “urban resort” feel, choice for a buffet breakfast or light, freshly prepared à la carte lunch. An open bar serving cocktails and a wide range of fine wine is a feature that will enable guests to step out with the stylish crowd and catch the eye for a memorable evening.
The SATOO Garden restaurant and lounge opens from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The venue spans more than 373 square metres and accommodates up to 70 guests in a dine and lounge setting and up to 150 guests for a cocktail event or other celebration.
Designed by Sonny Sutanto, an Indonesian architect whose creations include some of the city’s hippest restaurants, the SATOO Garden lounge radiates a contemporary style while remaining in harmony with the hotel’s surroundings and landscape. Not forgetting Indonesia’s cultural heritage, the architect adds an exotic touch to the bar counter by featuring a range of batik patterns as visual art.
