To celebrate a new Kerry Sports and to promote a healthy lifestyle, the hotel conducted this year’s annual tree lighting tradition with an exciting twist featuring a Sporty Christmas tree and theme. The unique five-metre-high tree was decorated with over 100 kinds of balls as ornaments.
The ceremony started with the choir from British School of Beijing, Shunyi serenading guests with Christmas carols. General Manager Jeremy Aniere made a surprising entrance by cycling into the lobby for his welcoming speech. He also presented Children’s Hope Family Executive Director Ms. Zhang Wen a check donation of RMB77,000 for the Children’s Hope Family Fund.
“We have been working together with the Children’s Hope Family as part of our Embrace Project for three years now and we hope to continue to assist them in any way we can,” said Mr. Aniere.
After the cheque presentation, Ms. Guo Yin, secretary general of the Beijing Hotel Industry Association, Ms. Zhang Wen and Mr. Aniere were ushered to the E-Spinners connected to the Christmas tree. The pedalling generated energy that lit the Christmas tree amidst a rousing countdown by guests.
As guests snacked on Christmas favourites, such as gluhwein, egg nog, turkey rolls and log cakes, the Kerry Choir entertained everyone with their upbeat rendition of Christmas medleys. The event ended with a surprise performance by Heyrobics in which all guests joined in, befitting the merry event that kicked off the yearend’s festivities.
