Anna Polyviou’s Cake range launch at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney

Sydney, 6 March 2018 – Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou has created a show-stopping range of special-occasion cakes, which are available exclusively at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney.

Polyviou is not afraid of taking delicious risks with her sweet art, and cake lovers will be dazzled by the daringly delicious creations, designed in the Punk Princess of Pastry’s distinctive style.

“I want to add a fun WOW factor to people’s special events, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, afternoon tea or wedding,” said Polyviou.

“My cakes will delight the crowd, and be something everyone will remember and talk about long after the day, helping to create special memories.”

Cake aficionados will covet the sublime selection on offer, including her rich and decadent Popping Caramel, fruity Mango Tango, luscious Berry Cheesecake and indulgent Apple Crumble.

As the piece de resistance, Polyviou’s outrageous “Tower of Terror” cake is sure to set cake devotees hearts’ aflutter. This wickedly delicious three-tiered chocolate mud concoction first seen on Family Food Fight has 103 steps, and serves over 100 guests.

The cake combines everything from raspberry lolly jelly filling and perfect glossy ganache to handmade chocolate discs, and is available for the sweet price of $1,000, including a signed copy of Polyviou’s cookbook Sweet Street.

Polyviou’s special-occasion cakes are priced at $25 (small; serves 2–4), $65 (medium; serves 10–12) and $95 (large; serves 1–16) for the Popping Caramel Cake; $25 (small; serves 2–4, $65 (medium; serves 10–12) and $85 (large; serves 14–16) for the Mango Tango; $55 (serves 12–16) for the Berry Cheesecake; and $65 (serves 12–14) for the Apple Crumble. A personalised chocolate plaque is priced at $5 per cake.
