It was time to reward daddy dearest during Father’s Day at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 15 to 16 June 2013. Following the success of the Little Chefs Meet Big Chef held on Mother’s Day in May, the hotel invited 16 children to participate in the latest installation of the successful cooking programme. This two-day cooking programme provided a learning experience like no other as the children were mentored by the hotel’s executive chef, Rudolf Kunkel.
On Saturday, 15 June 2013, the participating children gathered at the hotel for a briefing session, followed by a tour of the kitchen and an exclusive cooking class with the executive chef. During the class, they enjoyed a first-hand experience of being inside Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur’s kitchen. While in the kitchen, the children were introduced to various cooking ingredients used to prepare special dishes for the Father’s Day lunch on 16 June 2013.
The excitement continued on Sunday, 16 June 2013, when the children adorned their own chef attires and entered Lafite restaurant with the executive chef to profess their love to their beloved fathers before them a specially prepared lunch. As a memento of this joyous occasion, the participants received certificates and memorabilia to commemorate their participation.
The families of the children who participated in this fun-filled programme booked a table for a minimum of four persons, including the participant, at Lafite to enjoy a four-course lunch on Father’s Day priced at MYR 150 nett per person.
