Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi Offers Iftar with an Organic Twist

Afyä restaurant launches a healthy, fresh menu selection to break the fast

Abu Dhabi, 11 May 2015 – Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi will offer a delicious, organic and local Iftar menu during the holy month of Ramadan.  From sundown at 8 p.m. until midnight, the capital’s favourite four-star hotel will serve up a variety of locally sourced dishes at the all-day dining restaurant, Afyä, which means “health” in Arabic.

Starting at Dhs140++ per person (25 per cent off for groups of four), the menu is specially designed to include wholesome dishes made with organic ingredients.  Organic means the food is prepared and sourced through ethical processes and without the excessive use of chemicals in the process.

Executive Sous Chef Ricky Rimenda carefully selected the ingredients for a delicious and health-conscious menu.  Among the dishes are fresh local Burrata, Halloumi Kataifi, Tabbouleh and Grilled Vegetables.  Guests may choose the organic Rack of Lamb with Cous Cous.  Side dishes include organic tomatoes, flat breads and wild arugula.

“We know it is important to look after our mind and body during this holy time and, at Traders, we want to provide our guests a healthy alternative.  Our Iftar menu will do just that by using fresh and natural ingredients available to us,” said Thomas Guss, the hotel’s general manager.  “In the UAE, 19 per cent of the population are diabetic and, at Traders, we are providing healthier options to highlight the importance of a balanced diet and an organic Iftar is the first step.”
