Abu Dhabi, 19 June 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi has appointed Didier Quennouelle as chef de cuisine of Bord Eau, the elegant dining room serving authentic French cuisine. Chef Didier debuts his new menu this July with the enticing creations that Bord Eau has become synonymous with.
Chef Didier studied Brevet d'Etudes de Premier Cycle at Lycée Émile Zola in Bar Le Duc, France in 1990 for two years. He further studied CAP/BEP Cuisine at Lycée Hôtelier Laurent Fournier in Verdun, France.
Chef Didier started his culinary career in one of the only two Michelin-starred restaurants in Luxembourg as commis de cuisine, leaving as sous chef. He took his career to the next level as chef de partie under the direction of Pierre Cebeillac and Michelin two-starred Dominique Bouchet in Paris. Over a decade of experience, Chef Didier developed his skills and passion in the culinary world at luxurious Michelin-starred restaurants. In 2003, his journey continued when he joined a luxury hotel in China as chef de cuisine. He moved back to Paris and worked at a Michelin three-starred restaurant in a luxurious palace hotel under the direction of Jean-Yves Leuranguer.
With the flair of a true artist, Chef Didier combines authentic French flavours with a unique savoir faire, resulting in delectable creations.
