Shangri-La shares our summer blessings with you and your beloved family, taking you on an adventure of epicurean discovery with exclusive handcrafted rice dumplings concocted by our Master Chefs across the eastern part of China. Each gift box contains three rice dumpling flavours.

Hakka-style Traditional Salted Pork Rice Dumpling: Presented by Chef Richard Li, Chinese Chef, Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai (150g x 2 pieces)

Chef Li adopts a reinvented take on the traditional taste of the Cantonese Rice Dumpling. His recipe features seasonal Jiangnan-style preserved meat encasing fragrant glutinous rice, and then wrapped in handpicked lotus leaves. Chef Li braises the pork belly for two hours at high temperature, leaving a melt-upon-your-palate mouthfeel. The ritual of unwrapping the dumpling and then slicing into the rice to reveal the meat filling – every layer revealed adds to a bouquet of enticing fragrances that Chef Li has orchestrated with each step in crafting this masterpiece.

Durian Custard Crystal Rice Dumpling: Presented by Chef Liang Wei Da, Chinese Chef, Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou (120g x 2 pieces)

Chef Liang breaks from the traditional concept of Rice Dumplings by using sago – instead of glutinous rice – as the main ingredient. Sago is made from dried starch extracted from the pith of coconut trees, containing extremely high nutritional value. To heighten the flavour profile, durian and custard is then infused into the filling, creating a fruity fragrance and a chewy texture.

Two-Headed Warlord – Richly Fragrant Rice Dumpling: Presented by Chef Cyril Chen, Chinese Chef, Shangri-La Hotel, Yiwu (150g x 2 pieces)

Chef Chen brings unique ingredients in his work, heavily influenced in the Zhejiang style. Glutinous rice is soaked in Dendrobium jus – an herb beneficial to the liver and kidney – for more than 6 hours. Jinhua’s famous Two-Head Warlord Ham and salted egg yolk is folded into the rice. This harmonious combination results in a scrumptious flavour profile.

Terms & Conditions

1. Members can redeem Lifestyle Awards - Taste Of Shangri-La through the Golden Circle website www.goldencircle.shangri-la.com from 8 May to 18 June 2020.

2. Members will select the hotel, product and quantity that they wish to redeem.

3. Members can give Lifestyle Awards – Taste Of Shangri-La to a Nominee registered with the Golden Circle Redemption Group (see “Section J. Redemption Group” for details).

4. Members will receive a confirmation email with a redemption award reference number after the completion of the redemption.

5. GC Award Points will be deducted from the Member’s account at the time the redemption is made.

6. A Member or Nominee (as the case may be) must validate the Lifestyle Awards - Taste Of Shangri-La in person by presenting proof of identity at the Front Office of the pre-selected hotel prior to redeeming the pre-selected products from the hotel designated pick-up location.

7. Upon validation of the Lifestyle Awards – Taste Of Shangri-La at the pre-selected hotel, the Member or Nominee (as the case may be) will be issued a GC redemption voucher.

8. The original GC redemption voucher(s) must be presented at the time of the redemption at the designated pick-up location of the pre-selected hotel and can only be used on the date of validation, subject to Terms and Conditions printed thereon.

9. GC redemption vouchers can only be used to redeem pre-selected products in the pre-selected hotel designated pick-up location and cannot be used to purchase other merchandise or services.

10. GC redemption vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

11. Blackout dates for the use of GC redemption vouchers may apply.

12. Golden Circle is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged GC redemption vouchers.

13. A Lifestyle Awards – Taste Of Shangri-La confirmation is valid up to the last redemption date at the pre-selected hotel. Once expired, the validity of the Lifestyle Awards – Taste Of Shangri-La cannot be extended.

14. GC redemption vouchers are not transferable and will be deemed void if a person other than the Member or Nominee (as the case may be) attempts to use the vouchers.

15. Taste Of Shangri-La redemption is subject to availability. No amendment, cancellation or refund is allowed for Lifestyle Awards – Taste Of Shangri-La redemption once it has been confirmed.

16. In case of any dispute, Golden Circle reserves the right of final decision and to amend, accept or reject redemption of the Lifestyle Awards at its sole and absolute discretion, without prior notice.
