Bull Temple
An old temple in Bangalore, the Bull Temple is devoted to Nandi, Lord Shiva’s wagon. Located on a mountain, the temple was built in the 16th century during Vijayanagara's rule and has become a revered place of worship.
The site is home to a large Nandi sculpture. The monolithic statue is carved from granite and reflects the Dravidian style of artwork.
Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace
Made entirely of teakwood, with beautiful pillars, arches and balconies, the Summer Palace was known as ‘Rash-e-Jannat’, which means the dwelling of happiness and the envy of Heaven. The heritage site is now a museum dedicated to the life of Tipu Sultan.
ISKCON Temple
Dedicated to the Hindu deity Sri Radha Krishna, this temple features a gold-plated Kalash Shikhara flag on a 17-metre pole, which is known as the Dwaja-stambha. Located in northern Bangalore, the temple is maintained by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and hosts various spiritual, cultural and educational activities throughout the year for its devotees.
St. Mary's Basilica
St. Mary's is an old church in Bangalore and the only one in Karnataka to have been elevated to the status of a minor basilica. It is famous for the festivities held during the St. Mary's Feast in September each year, an event that attracts a number of devotees from in and around Bangalore.
Masjid-e-Khadria
One of the beautiful mosques in Bangalore, located on Millers Road, the Masjid-e-Khadria hosts (the) prayers on Eid as well as the Haj camp.
Vidhana Soudha
The Vidhana Soudha is the seat of the state legislature of Karnakata. The imposing building is an architectural marvel that combines Neo-Dravidian, Dravidian and Indo-Saracenic styles. With carved pillars, pediments, arches, cornices and bases, the building comprises four levels and an area of 550,505 square feet. The central dome, with a diameter of 60 feet, features the national emblem of India.

Nandi Hills
Nandidurg is a hill fortress in southern India, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is located just 10km from Chickballapur town and 60 km from Bangalore. It is 4849 feet (1,478 m) above sea level. Nandidurg Hill, known commonly as Nandi Hills, is the source of the Penna, Ponnaiyar and Palar rivers. Nandi Hills gets its name from an ancient temple on this site. The temple houses a thousand-year-old sculpture of Nandi, the bull on which Lord Shiva rides.
Founded in 1970, Bannerghatta National Park is home to diverse species of animals including crocodiles, tigers, lions and 20 different species of butterfly. Tourists can arrange safari trips to explore the area of more than 100 square kilometres. The park is a natural habitat to elephants, leopards, jackals, foxes, gaurs (Indian bison), barking deer, sloth bears, spotted deer and hares. There is also a snake farm, which is popular among visitors.
Cubbon Park
Cubbon Park is one of the city’s important heritage sites, renowned for historical events, cultural institutions and government buildings. The symmetrically shaped park covers an area of 300 acres, which is adorned with countless flowers, shaded groves and trees. Cubbon Park was created under Richard Sankey in 1870. It was named in honour of Lieutenant Mark Cubbon, a British army officer of the East India Company and British Commissioner of Mysore. In the centre of Cubbon Park is the Memorial of Seshadari Iyer, the Dewan of Mysore, which houses the Public Library. There is also a statue of Queen Victoria. The park is home to indigenous and exotic species about 68 genera and 96 species with a total of around 6000 plants and trees.
Lal Bagh Gardens
The Botanical Gardens are a main attraction of Bangalore. Construction of Lal Bagh began in 1760 under Hyder Ali’s rule. His successor, Tipu Sultan, completed them.
Located in southern Bangalore, the gardens cover 240 acres and are designed in the Mughal style. Lal Bagh is full of rare species of trees, plants and other flora from around the world. In the grounds there is also the pre-historical Lal Bagh Rock, estimated to be 3,000 million years old.

National Gallery of Modern Art
Housed in the well-known heritage site of Manikyavelu Mansion, the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is more than 90 years old. The gallery displays national treasures spanning a period from the late 18th century to the present day. Among the exhibition highlights are old ganjifa (playing) cards and miniature paintings. The gallery also displays the works of artists from across India.
Kempegowda Museum
The museum is dedicated to the Yelahanka township chieftain Kempegowda (1513-1569), who was the founder of Bangalore. Located on the first floor of Mayo Hall, the museum houses a statue of Kempegowda along with other relics, pictures and inscriptions from his time.
HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum
Opened in 2001 by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the museum displays the achievements of HAL and its vibrant history. Exhibits include model aircraft, communications and navigation equipment, as well life-size display of aircrafts.
