The Traditions of Myanmar
In this theme, inspired by the tribal customs
of ancient Myanmar, the foyer is decorated like a traditional village, with several
bamboo huts serving as food and beverage stalls.
The foyer is transformed into a tea shop
setting with the small wooden stools and tables. As each guest arrives, they
are given a longyi, the traditional sarong, and phan-nat, a pair
of slippers, to wear. Staff are lavishly made up with thanakka, a
powdered bark of tree. Local cheroots and beetle nuts will also be available
for those curious about these traditional ingredients.
Guests then arrive in the ballroom, welcomed
by a group of cultural dancers to the sounds of traditional music. During
dinner, guests will be entertained with music and dance from several tribes of
Myanmar.
