Singapore Botanic Gardens
Just a 5-minute drive away from Shangri-La Singapore, Singapore Botanic Gardens was originally at Fort Canning, established in 1822 by Sir Stamford Raffles.
The Gardens was then reopened in 1859 in its present location.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, and is the first and only tropical garden on the list. It also boasts the National Orchid Garden with over 1,000 species and more than 2,000 hybrids of orchids for the flower enthusiast.

Dempsey Hill
Named after Commanding Offer General Sir Miles Christopher Dempsey who led the main British force that defended Singapore during WWII.
Originally known as Tanglin Camp, a military basecamp until the 1980s, the former army barracks saw the growth of a quaint retail enclave in the nineties.
