Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai Launches Celebrity Bartender Series 2017

Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai launches its Celebrity Bartender Series 2017 with a stellar line-up of award-winning celebrity bartenders from all over the world.  With imaginative techniques, these masters will present the current trends in the cocktail world and showcase their signature drinks for cocktail lovers’ indulgence. 

 

This is the second Celebrity Bartender Series held by Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai, with the first event receiving unprecedented praise.  This year, The 1515 WEST Chophouse & Bar will bring in another four star bartenders from the international renowned bars for guest shifting nights.  A special drink menu will be presented with each celebrity bartender, along with exclusive event “Master Class” for those who would like to get to know the bartenders better or pick up a few tips. 

 

Series #1 Celebrity Bartender: 29 March to 1 April 

Ninotchka Gandulla, La Factoria, Puerto Rico, listed 31/50 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2016 

 

From 29 March 2017, star bartender Ninotchka Gandulla from La Factoria, the hottest bar  in Puerto Rico, will pull back the curtain for the first show.  Cocktail lovers can enjoy the Caribbean breeze by this world’s top bartender from the World’s 50 Best Bars. 

 

Date of performance: 29 March to 1 April 2017, daily from 6 p.m. till late 

Venue: The 1515 WEST Chophouse & Bar at Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai (Level 4) 

Free-flow package: Daily from 6:30 to 8 p.m., enjoy free-flow crafted cocktails by Ninotchka Gandulla at RMB168++/person (a minimum of three persons is required). 

Master Class: 2 to 4:30 p.m., 1 April 2017

About Ninotchka Gandulla 

Getting her career started in Old San Juan, Ninotchka was later recruited by Leslie Cofresi and Roberto Berdecia, prominent mixologists in Puerto Rican history, to be an apprentice at their bar, La Factoria.  Participating and winning awards at several cocktail competitions, including the Bacardi Barbuild PDXC 2015 and Absolut Invite Team Edition 2016, she has continued to push herself and her career forward.  She has also been able to participate in such programmes as Camp Runamok 2015 and 2016 and Bar Institute, making her an accomplished, well-rounded and well-travelled person and professional bartender.  Her cocktail style is simple, well thought out, fresh and fun.

About The 1515 WEST Chophouse & Bar

The Raw Bar provides fresh oysters and seafood from around the world.  Champagnes, vermouths, sherries, white wines and a cellar featuring a selection of New World wines and Reds ensure that the bar’s wine sommelier always has the best recommendations at hand. 

 

The main bar is in classic New York style and provides views of the piazza and the former resident of Chairman Mao Zedong.  It offers Shanghai’s best beverage selection of classic and unique spirits from which a team of skilled bartenders produce premium drinks and cocktails for guests.
