The 8 Iena terrace goes green

Paris, 16th May 2017 – Shangri-La Hotel, Paris is delighted to announce the reopening of its terrace La 8 Iéna with a 100% green menu designed by Michelin-starred Chef, Christophe Moret.

Located in the hotel’s forecourt, each year this lush, green and sunny terrace enchants Parisians looking for a moment of relaxation in a private, secluded setting.

Major news for 2017: Chef Christophe Moret’s 100% green menu. Guests can enjoy the best the vegetable garden has to offer and discover flavoursome dishes, such as the Iced Pea Velouté, Mint Marshmallows, the “Riviera” Fougasse garnished with Poivrade Artichokes, Purple Artichokes and Black Olives, served with a Baby Broad Bean Salad, Diced Cucumber, Fresh Tomatoes, Avocado, Coriander, Parsley and Rocket or the Riso La Renata and Pan-fried Cherry Tomatoes, Tomato Juice, Citron and Red Onions.

For those with a sweet tooth, a trolley of home-made vegan ice creams and sorbets awaits beneath the shade of the parasol, as well as delicious desserts made by Pastry Chef Michaël Bartocetti, such as Jasmine Pavlova with its plant-based Citrus Meringue, Jasmine Tea Scented Cream, Strawberry Granita or the Coconut and Vanilla Rice Pudding. And, not to forget, there is the 100% Vegan Afternoon Tea, with exclusive creations for this summer.

To accompany these delicious natural treats, Head Sommelier Matthias Meynard has focussed on wines made using biodynamic methods. Unroasted, hand-picked, fair- trade chocolates, coffees and teas are also served, as well as organic fruit juices, home-made iced tea, gluten-free beer, and the famous “Chi drinks” – innovative, healthful drinks inspired by the Chinese philosophy of “Chi”, guaranteeing a harmonious body and spirit.

Lastly, the cocktails made by Head Barman Clément Emery complete this green experience, with fresh and bold creations, which pay tribute to former owner Prince Bonaparte’s passion for botany.

Whether it is to satisfy an urge for a snack during the day, or something more substantial, all gourmets will be able to find something to please them at La 8 Iéna – a truly green bubble to charge your batteries throughout the summer.

La 8 Iéna will be open every day, subject to weather conditions, from noon to 11 pm, until the end of September.
