Mr H’ng comes from Malaysia. Prior to joining Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, he gained hospitality experience in Malaysia, Thailand and China, including Suzhou, Xiamen and Shanghai. With a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years, he is no stranger to the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts family. He started his illustrious career at Shangri-La Hotel in Penang Malaysia as a sales executive and was promoted to different positions, including event sales manager, senior sales manager and director of sales and marketing, within nine years in the group in Malaysia, making him a truly professional hotelier.
When he was young, Mr H’ng was motivated by the legendary experience of Robert Kwok, the founder of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Mr H’ng’s philosophy that “Strong value of family is the basis of success” best shows the Shangri-La manifesto of “We are family”.
With 12 years of experience in China, Mr H’ng has a deep and broad understanding of Chinese culture and the Chinese hospitality market.
