How to Spa at Chi
Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La is committed to providing a relaxing atmosphere for all who enter.
The following policies, guidelines and suggestions are intended to enhance everyone's experience with us.
Meeting your needs
On your arrival at Chi, our receptionist will give you a health consultation to ensure that you receive treatments that suit your needs. Please advise the receptionist if you are pregnant or have any health issues or concerns, or if you have recently undergone any medical treatment.
Preparing for your treatment
For ladies, no preparation is necessary. Turn up and enjoy! For men, we recommend shaving at least 4 hours prior to having a facial for maximum comfort and benefit to the skin.
What to wear
You may wish to bring a swimsuit while enjoying the Spa facilities. For Chi Villa treatments there is no need to bring or wear any special clothing, as spa wear is provided in your suite.
Your privacy
Your privacy will be protected at all times. Your therapist will leave you to change in private, and you will be draped with towels throughout the treatment, covering all parts of the body not being treated.
Ladies are given the option of including the bust area in all body treatments. We have separate male and female changing rooms and wet areas for your convenience and comfort.
Making reservations for Chi, The Spa
Advance booking prior to intended treatment time is recommended. Please either call or visit the Chi desk.
Please allow us an additional 30 minutes prior to your booked treatment time if you wish to discuss your treatment. This will also allow the therapist time to prepare your villa / suite with the correct element oils and accessories prior to your arrival.
Arriving on time
To fully enjoy your spa experience, please arrive at least 45 minutes before your appointment. Use of the Water Oasis, steam room and tropical rain shower are part of your Chi Treatment Experience, and time is needed to enjoy all of the facilities.
Late arrivals
In the event that you are running late for your appointment, we will endeavour to conduct your full treatment. However, please note that the treatments may need to be adjusted to your original completion time.
Spa etiquette
To preserve the harmony within the spa kindly turn off your mobile phone and leave it in the locker provided.
Please do not smoke on the premises. Alcohol and outside food or drinks are not allowed in Chi, The Spa.
Minimum age
To maintain a peaceful environment, children under 16 years old are not permitted in the spa.
Cancellation
In consideration of other spa guests, your treatment requires that facilities be reserved. We require a minimum of 12 hours' notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. No shows or appointments cancelled less than 12 hours in advance will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
Your comfort
Although we try to anticipate your needs, we appreciate that a spa is a very individual experience. Please let your therapist know if there is any way we can improve your treatment or comfort – for example, firmer or lighter massage pressure, an extra towel, adjusting sound or lighting levels, etc.
We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to kindly fill in a guest questionnaire following your treatment.
