Shang Palace Offers a Master in the Palace Set Menu by Executive Chinese Chef Richard Thong

Manila, October 1, 2013­ – Shang Palace, Makati Shangri-La, Manila’s premier Cantonese restaurant, offers a specially created set menu by Executive Chinese Chef Richard Thong. As the Master in the Palace, Chef Thong will also be conducting a cooking demo of techniques and recipes on October 24, 2013.

Signature dishes included in the Master in the Palace set menu are Hot Prawn Salad with Fried Vegetable Taro Puff, Double Boiled Fried Fish Maw Soup with Cabbage, Mushroom and Red Dates, Sautéed Scallop Wolfberries with Egg White and Asparagus, Braised Mushroom with Dried Scallop and Garden Greens, Fresh Lapu-lapu, Roast Duck, Braised E-Fu Noodle with Seafood and Mushroom, Chilled Mochi, and Chilled Sago with Dried Mangoes. This will be available for lunch and dinner from October 21 to 31, 2013 for P 2,318.46 per person.

The Singaporean-born Chef Richard Thong brings 25 years of experience from five-star properties and restaurants and is excited to flare up the kitchens to continue to offer diners myriad reasons to enjoy authentic Chinese fare at Shang Palace. Chef Thong is expected to soar the culinary team to greater heights by serving innovative Cantonese cuisine in wedding banquets, corporate functions and outside catering events.

“I am happy to be based in Manila for the first time because I have known Filipinos to be very kind-hearted, having worked with them before,” states Chef Richard. Guests can expect innovative dishes to their usual Cantonese favorites.
