Shangri-La’s Vilingili Resort and Spa, Maldives welcomed the New Year with a very special guest, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who arrived at the resort on 31 December 2012 and spent four nights with his family.
Reappointed as prime minister on 5 December 2012 by Kuwait's ruler, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah very much enjoyed the property and commented on the facilities and the level of service delivered during his stay.
Arriving at Gan International Airport in his private jet, His Highness was extremely happy to see how smooth and convenient it was to reach the southernmost resort in the Maldives. Shangri-La’s Vilingili Resort and Spa, Maldives has recently started to provide private jet services, being the only resort in the Maldives to have its own international airport located just five minutes by speedboat from the property. The resort also provides catering services on-board.
“It was a pleasure to have His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his family and to see how happy they were with our team members. We could not start 2013 better! I have a tendency to see this visit as a sign of luck for the coming year,” said Rene D. Egle, the resort’s general manager.
