Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore pays tribute to all mothers with “Flower Power” brunches at The Line and The Waterfall on Mother’s Day, Sunday, 11 May 2014.
As a gesture of appreciation to all mothers, the brunch spread at each restaurant will feature specially crafted menus inspired by flowers. The culinary brigade from Rose Veranda, Shang Palace and Nadaman will present celebratory high tea and set menus for the occasion.
The Line commemorates Mother’s Day with a burst of colours. Creative floral creations at the 16 theatre kitchens include Artichoke and Mushroom Barigoule, Monkfish Liver with Fennel Pollen and Saffron Risotto. Mothers with a sweet tooth will enjoy such desserts as Frozen Cardamom Cream with Pistachio and Rose Water. Available from noon to 3 p.m., Mother’s Day “Flower Power” brunch is priced at S$128 per adult and at S$54 per child, and includes free-flowing chilled juices and soft drinks. Add S$40 for house pour champagne, red and white wines and draft beer.
The Waterfall presents a healthy brunch inspired by flowers and Mediterranean flavours. Perfect for mums with light palates, the menu highlights include Verbena Glazed Goose and creative pass-around items, such as Carne Asada Salad on Chrysanthemum-Scented Cannellini.
For S$126 per adult, The Waterfall’s “Flower Power” brunch is valid from noon to 4 p.m. and includes one bottle of organic soft drink. Beverage packages consisting of Taittinger Champagne, red and white wines and herb-inspired cocktails are available.
Tea-loving mums can enjoy a leisurely high tea buffet at The Rose Veranda. Mother’s Day specialties include Assorted Seafood on Ice, Seafood Terrine with Sour Cream Dill Dressing, Roasted Rack of Lamb and Raspberry Shortcake and Yuzu Choux. Two seatings are available, at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. High tea buffet is priced at S$72 per adult and at S$36 per child, and includes free-flowing chilled juices and tea. They can indulge further with free-flowing sparkling wine for an additional S$18.
Master Chef Steven Ng of Shang Palace has designed lavish lunch and dinner set menus that are perfect for families with a penchant for traditional Chinese celebrations. Mums will appreciate popular classics, such as Peking Duck, Sautéed Coral Clam and Bamboo Shoots with Black Bean Sauce and Baked Lobster in Miso Sauce. Prices start from S$108 per person.
Nadaman’s new head chef Takaya Ishizuka transforms the blessings of nature into a Mother’s Day celebratory feast. He will present a six-course lunch kaiseki using seasonal and imported ingredients, such Grilled Mekajiki Swordfish and Vegetable with Sansho Pepper. Mother’s Day Kaiseki is priced at S$88 per person.
