Putrajaya Shangri-La Welcomes Chef Zainuddin as New Executive Chef

Putrajaya Shangri-La is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Zainuddin Abu Hassan as the hotel’s new Executive Chef. In this role, Chef Zainuddin will be responsible for the culinary direction of Azur Restaurant, Palm Hill Café, in-room dining, and catering and banquet functions.

Chef Zainuddin brings with him more than two decades of five-star hospitality experience and passion throughout his career in Malaysian hotels and restaurants, including stints in Ireland, Cambodia and Saudi Arabia. He joins Putrajaya Shangri-La from the Sime Darby Convention Centre where he was the Executive Chef since 2010. Prior to that Chef Zainuddin was also the Executive Chef at Palm Garden Hotel Putrajaya since 2003.

Chef Zainuddin has won multiple culinary accolades, including the Silver Medal at the Sun Rise Culinary School U.S Potato Black Box Competition and the Amazing Chef Award from Nestle in 2012. His extensive culinary experience and wide repertoire in Western and Asian cuisines is underscored by his philosophy of serving dishes crafted to evoke full flavours through the use of the highest quality seasonal ingredients, creative composition and sound cooking technique.
