Makati Shangri-La, Manila Conducts a Master in the Palace II with Executive Chinese Chef Richard Thong

Manila, 2 April 2014 – Makati Shangri-La, Manila’s Executive Chinese Chef Richard Thong conducts a cooking demo of Cantonese techniques and recipes with A Master in the Palace II on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10 a.m.

After the success of Chef Thong’s first cooking demo, he is set to excite cooking enthusiasts once more where guests will learn some of his signature dishes that can easily be prepared at home. The dishes include clay pot chicken rice, steamed lapu-lapu fillet with crispy soy bean paste and chilled mango pancake. A Master in the Palace II is priced at Php 3,300 net per person and includes a set lunch at Shang Palace, recipe book and certificate. Reservations are highly recommended.

The Singaporean-born Chef Richard Thong brings more than 25 years of experience from five-star hotels in the region and now flares up the kitchens of Shang Palace by creating authentic and innovative Chinese fare. Aside from the restaurant kitchen, Chef Thong also leads the award-winning culinary team serving innovative Cantonese cuisine in wedding banquets, corporate functions and outside catering events.
