In his new role, Mr. Dewar oversees the overall hotel operation and repositions the hotel to new heights in service excellence by exemplifying Shangri-La’s core values.
Of Scottish nationality, Mr. Dewar has almost 25 years experience in the industry spanning numerous countries in Asia. He began his career with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts at The Aberdeen Marina Club in Hong Kong, then Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa in Malaysia. Prior to this appointment he was at Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen.
Having graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, Mr. Dewar began his career in a Hong Kong luxury hotel in 1989. After years’ of professional exposure in various destinations, including Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, Jakarta, Malaysia and Hong Kong, he has established a strong vision complementing his well-versed knowledge and dynamic leadership.
Today, at Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou, Mr. Dewar, with his capable team, aims to build further upon the fine reputation of the hotel, making full use of the unique and extensive facilities and gardens to continue to expand its customer base.
