Exploring Xian
Built in imposing classical Chinese style, the museum was opened in 1992 and is considered one of the best museums in China. The exhibits are arranged chronologically, from Palaeolithic Lantian Man, New Stone Age settlements (5,000--7,000 BC), Neolithic pottery and jade carvings, through Han, Western Wei and Northern Zhou Dynasty exhibits to the more recent Sui, Tang, Ming and Qing Dynasty relics.
