The innovative, Odaiba is a large manmade island in Tokyo Bay complete with ultra modern buildings, elegant shopping malls and electric cars. This extraordinary island which is put up on reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay is connected to the mainland by monorail.

The island was originally built for defensive reasons during the 1800’s but expanded significantly during the latter stages of the 20th century. It was the initiative of Governor Shunichi Suzuki who redeveloped Odaiba in to a Tokyo Teleport Town in the early 1990s.
