In 2010, Shanghai brings the world together when it hosts the largest World Expo in history. From May to October 2010, over 200 countries will participate in the World Expo 2010 to promote the Expo theme, "Better City, Better Life" for six months. With an area of 5.28 sq/km in the city, the World Expo site houses local and foreign pavilions, an Expo boulevard, an Expo centre and a performance centre, where over 70 million visitors from China and around the globe will converge. The World Expo 2010 will showcase a powerful and lasting example of sustainable and harmonious urban living through its exhibitions, events and forums.
Strategic Location
The World Expo site spans both sides of the Huangpu River, with 3.93 sq/km in Pudong and 1.35 sq/km in Puxi. Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai is strategically located just 15 minutes by car from the World Expo site in Pudong. Just a 5-minute walk to the Lujiazui subway station, guests can also enjoy easy access to the World Expo site and other parts of Pudong (East Shanghai) and Puxi (West Shanghai).
