The city of Ningbo is well known as a trade port dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Less than two hours drive from Shanghai by Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the longest sea bridge in the world, Ningbo is a major economic hub in the Yangtze Delta Area. The name Ningbo means "calm waves" in Chinese. It has numerous historical attractions including Tian Yi Chamber, the oldest surviving library building in China.
