Beautiful, majestic and serene, KLCC Park presents a refreshing break from the urbanized city of Kuala Lumpur. This impressive landscaped park is the ideal destination to indulge in a relaxing stroll or simply unwind and relax.
Spread out over 50 acres this garden of tranquillity is a stark contrast from the rest of Kuala Lumpur. Designed by the late Roberto Burle Marx, the park utilizes a combination of trees, cement structures, shrubs, wood and stone to create an invigorating atmosphere. The park is designed in such a way that it presents the viewer with a sense of space whilst different shades of colour are achieved through the various types of trees planted in the park. There is also much movement going on in the garden with the motion of plant life in the wind making it so much more than a simple static attraction. This garden was actually the last work undertaken by the late Brazilian designer.
The plant life that can be found here were grown with a specific purposes including preservation of endangered specimens as 23 of the older and rarer were transported in from the old Selangor Turf Club. Additionally over 1900 indigenous trees and 66 specimens of palms were planted to promote bio diversity.
For those wishing to take a break from shopping or their business activities, KLCC Park presents an ideal haven in which to relax. As a KL hotel situated close to this destination, guests of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur will be able to easily access this prominent destination in the city.
