Dubai has a large, modern fleet of metered taxis. The starting fare is AED 3 plus a per km charge, with a minimum fare of AED 10. Starting fare from 10pm to 6am is AED 3.50, and from the Airport is AED 20 regardless of the time.

Drivers rarely carry much change and it is recommended that you carry AED 10 and AED 5 notes to avoid the hassle of having to find somewhere to break larger notes.
