Dubai has a large, modern fleet of metered taxis. The starting fare is 3 AED plus a per km charge. During peak periods, the starting fare is 3.50 AED. Drivers rarely carry much change and it is recommended that you carry 10 AED and 5 AED notes to avoid the hassle of having to find somewhere to break larger notes.
