Transportation
The city currently has four subway lines in operation, with three more under construction. Subway Line 1 runs across the city between east and west. Line 2 is a circular line going around the inner city. Line 5 runs between north and south of the city, while Line 13 loops over the northern part of Beijing running between Xizhimen and Dongzhimen. Three other lines under construction include one between the 2nd Ring Road and the Beijing Capital International Airport. There are two train stations linking Beijing to all cities in China, and to some international cities. International trains to Moscow, Pyongyang and Ulaan Baatar leave from the Beijing Station, and trains to Hong Kong and Vietnam leave from the Beijing West Station.Beijing has a comprehensive network of bus routes and buses are very cheap. However, it can be confusing for visitors who do not understand the system and do not speak the local language. It also takes longer to reach the intended destination as buses make frequent stops.
