Beijing Food Street

Beijing is famous for its 'food streets', pedestrian alleys with hawker stands lined up along the block selling a variety of exotic and delicious food. This theme recreates a Beijing food street, including local artisans in action, such as calligraphers, dough sculptors, kite makers and cobblestone carvers.

Guests may shop for a souvenirs, walk through the street and stop over at one of the food stalls serving Chinese delicacies, such as Beijing Roast Duck, Chinese Pancakes and Lamb Skewers. Discovering the art of noodle-making, making steamed dumplings, and sampling the chef's specialty, Dan Dan Noodles, will prove fascinating to guests with culinary interests.

After dinner, a drum roll will signal the start of the Lion Dance: gongs, drums and cymbals provide the musical backdrop for magnificent feats of Chinese acrobatics. A Chinese string ensemble provides additional music throughout the event.

Beijing Opera

Enjoy the glory of the historical Beijing Opera with this entertaining cultural theme. Guests enter a well-decorated banquet room and see a recreation of a Beijing Opera stage, complete with Beijing Opera masks and props. The theme party starts with pre-dinner drinks for approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Guests will enjoy watching actors and actresses prepare their colourful and dramatic make-up (guests may, if they wish, have their photo taken wearing a Beijing Opera costume with make-up).

A traditional Chinese Banquet will be served whilst guests enjoy the highlights of a Beijing Opera performance. All the lights in the room will be dimmed except for the spotlights on stage and the traditional, Chinese-style table lamps. In addition to the opera highlights, guests will also be able to enjoy a variety performance: acrobatics, Chinese folk-singing, and traditional dancing. Guests are welcome to get up on stage and contribute their own performances.

Black and White Ball

Your guests are invited to step into an evening of elegance and charm. Pre-dinner drinks commence in a candlelit atmosphere, with delicate canapes to match the mood. White-gloved staff glide silently by and a small orchestra plays softly in the background. As dinner is served, music will herald guests to their seats at black-and-white decorated table settings.

Dinner is accompanied by an orchestral performance, blending in superbly with the elegant atmosphere.

The Emperor's Banquet

Treat your guests to an evening in an imperial Beijing palace with this theme, which is based on the celebrations and rituals of the classical dynasties of China. On the day of arrival, your guests will receive an imperial summons. Guests start the evening with drinks in a folk bazaar which showcases traditional Chinese crafts, such as calligraphy and dough sculpting.

For dinner, guests will be escorted to their places by waiters dressed in picturesque Qing Dynasty costumes, and will be given individual menus in the form of a Chinese scroll. The after-dinner entertainment includes the dramatic entry of an Emperor and his entourage, dressed colourful traditional costumes.
