The International Ferry Terminal serves Haikou on Hainan and the nearby island of Weizhou. Boats leave once daily for the 11 hour journey to Haikou. Tickets cost from RMB 90 (USD 11) for a seat to RMB 230 (US 30) for a cabin. 

Additionally, thirty-six nautical miles offshore Beihai are Weizhou and Xieyang Islands, which as the largest underwater volcanoes in China offer the regions finest bird-watching and diving amidst magnificent coral reefs. The Jinhaiwan Tourism Transportation Company offers boat trips to the reefs. Enquire with the hotel about arranging a day-trip to these special underwater treasures.
