Exploring Baotou
Known as Emperor Taizu of the Yuan Dynasty and also called Temujin, Genghis Khan (1162-1227) was a Mongol leader, and a noted strategist and a statesman. The tomb of Genghis Khan is located 30 kilometres from Ih Ju League, and consists of walls, a square, and the tomb, covering a total area of some 50,000 square metres. Joss sticks and candles in the halls of the tomb burn year round. Four annual grand sacrificial ceremonies are held here to commemorate Genghis Khan, who to this day remains a hero of the Mongolian people
