In addition to his vice president – hotels position, Mr. Haechler is currently the general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. Mr. Haechler was previously area manager for the UAE region. Since joining Shangri-La in 1993, Mr. Haechler has held several general manager posts in Penang (where he was also area manager), Bangkok, Manila and Hong Kong. His more than 30 years in the hospitality industry began in his native Switzerland and South Africa.
