In addition to his vice president position, Mr. Haechler is the general manager of Shangri La Hotel, Dubai. Mr. Haechler was previously area manager for the UAE region. Since joining Shangri-La in 1993, Mr. Haechler has served as general manager in Penang (where he was also area manager), Bangkok, Manila and Hong Kong. His more than 30 years in the hospitality industry began in his native Switzerland and South Africa.
