The United States-based Wine Spectator magazine’s “Best of Awards of Excellence” has been granted to Aria, China World Hotel, Beijing’s signature modern European restaurant. Aria is one of only seven restaurants in mainland China to receive the award in 2012.
“Aria continues to represent the best of the best for China World Hotel, Beijing. I would like to commend Eric Wu, the hotel sommelier, for his efforts in delivering an excellent wine list that manages to achieve a fine balance between innovation and consistency. I would also like to express my appreciation to Wine Spectator for once more recognising the dedication of Eric and his team,” said John Rice, area manager of China World Hotel, Beijing.
Mr. Wu said, “I am extremely fortunate to have the full support of China World Hotel, who are committed to the development of wine culture in China. I am proud to say that Aria continues to set the benchmark, by pioneering wine dinners in Beijing attended by the world’s most prominent winemakers and by developing and training the most promising young talent in the industry. My team and I are grateful to Wine Spectator for this honour.”
Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards acknowledge restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a broad range of wine lovers. To qualify, the list must present complete, accurate wine information, with vintages and appellations for all selections, including wines available by the glass. Typically, these lists offer at least 400 wines.
Aria is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 6 until 10 p.m. from Monday to Friday. On weekends, Aria is open for dinner only from 6 until 10 p.m.
Aria Bar is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the bar is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Happy Hour is available daily. Reservations are recommended.
For reservations, guests may call Aria directly at (86 10) 6505 2266 extension 36, the restaurant reservations centre at (86 10) 6505 5838, or e-mail Eric Wu at email@example.com.
