Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman has been awarded the Health and Safety Management System OHSAS 18001 certification by the United Registrar of Systems Ltd. (URS).
OHSAS 18001 is an Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety management systems. It is intended to promote a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework that helps organisations to consistently identify and control occupational health and safety hazards, reduce the potential for accidents, aid legislative compliance and improve overall performance.
Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman has been fully committed to the health and safety standard procedures driven by the resort’s OHSAS 18001 Committee through implementing the required policies, identifying the potential hazards in the working place, assessing the involved risks and determining the necessary controls. In 2010, Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman was awarded ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems certification, and the resort remains committed to the environment cause.
