The sale of Christmas goodies and festive celebrations will start on 30 November 2012 at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore during the annual Light-up Ceremony. In addition to traditional flavours, new creations inspired by The Nutcracker ballet will be launched together with five premium hampers and novel festive treats. An advent calendar modelled after a Gingerbread House will be set up in the hotel lobby. Each day, one lucky child staying at the hotel will be selected to open one of the 24 windows to win a prize.
Area Executive Pastry Chef Hervé Potus and his team of expert patisseries will introduce new varieties of the Bûche de Noëls, famous French yule log cakes. These roulade creations are inspired by the classic Christmas tale of The Nutcracker. Guests can expect new flavours such as Champagne Cassis Mandarin. Another new flavour, Vintage 72 Per Cent Nutty, has a digestive cookie fondant base packed with raisins and roasted almond flakes in 72 percent chocolate mousse. Both cakes are priced at SGD 52 each. For guests who prefer traditional flavours, the classic Cookies and Cream, and Grandma 66 Per Cent yule log cakes start at SGD 48.
Another staple for the dinner table is the wholesome Christmas cake. Guests can indulge in two new creations, Santa Claus and Festive Hat. These one-kilogram cakes can be purchased at SGD 60 each. Traditional Pecan Nut Pie and English Fruit Cake with Drunken Fruits are available for those with nostalgic cravings, at SGD 40 each.
European favourites, such as the Authentic German Marzipan Stollen, are available in 250-gram and 600-gram portions. The Home-Made Italian Panettone will satisfy any holiday lover, and is priced at only SGD 14.
Chocolate lovers and aficionados can indulge in cocoa delights of the finest quality. The latest addition to the chocolate selection is the Chocolate Reindeer, priced at SGD 26 per piece. Other handcrafted chocolates include the Lollipop 66 Per Cent, Santa Lost His Boots, Polar Bear and Chocolate Santa Claus, in 80-gram and 130-gram versions.
Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore offers five premium hampers that are ideal as presents for family or business partners. Prices start at SGD 98 for the Christmas Classic Hamper, which features a bottle of Chandon Méthode Champenoise, a 90-gram Chocolate Santa Claus, marzipan stollen, assorted Christmas cookies and a mini panettone. The traditional advent calendar will be taken to new heights at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. Each day, one lucky child staying at the hotel will be given the opportunity to open one of 24 windows leading up to Christmas Day. The windows are part of the Gingerbread House that will be erected in the Tower Wing’s main lobby during the Christmas season.
On Christmas Eve, guests are invited to gather for hearty buffet meals at The Line. Festive buffet lunch on Christmas Eve starts at SGD 55 per adult, and SGD 26 per child between 6 and 11 years old.
Guests can add to the merriment with free-flowing house pour wine, draft beer, soft drinks, chilled juices, coffee and tea for only SGD 72 per adult.
