Chef Patissier Claude Guerin will introduce a weekend afternoon of sweet temptation with irresistible French pastries and desserts at Restaurant Petrus in October 2013.
Guests will enjoy a degustation of three a la carte desserts from Chef Guerin’s signature dessert menu, which includes Fresh Mara Des Bois Strawberry Chiboust with Sansho Pepper, Chocolat Caraibe with Crispy Cocoa Nibs, Fleur De Sel and Vanilla Ice Cream and Cherry Monts de Venasque Sherbet with Yuzu Parfait and Lemon Confit. In addition, a classic French roving dessert trolley filled with exquisitely rendered traditional French cakes and pastries, such as Madeleine, Saint Honoré, Fresh Fig Tart and Meringue with crème anglaise will also be available for guests to choose from.
“A quintessential part of the French’s weekend pastime is having a cup of tea with a cake or a pastry,” said Chef Guerin. “We want to recreate this French weekend dessert experience with time-honoured cakes and pastries, and new signature favourites, which can be enjoyed with a cup of Nespresso limited-edition Crealto coffee or a choice of tea and a glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne.”
The weekend afternoon temptation is priced at HK$388 plus 10 per cent service charge per person and is available from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Chef Guerin joined Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong in October 2012 as Chef Patissier at Restaurant Petrus. Prior to joining Restaurant Petrus, she was the pastry chef at the Michelin one-star Gordon Ramsay in Conrad Tokyo. She has also worked in several restaurants in Paris, including Michelin three-star Restaurant Le Meurice, Michelin one star Le Restaurant de l’Hôtel, 114 Faubourg at Hotel Le Bristol and Michelin three star Restaurant Ledoyen.
Restaurant Petrus commands views of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour and is renowned for having one of Asia’s largest wine cellars featuring a premium Château Petrus collection and extensive vintages from other famous chateaux.
