One Girl Can is a registered Canadian charity breaking the cycle of poverty and impacting gender equality through education and mentorship. The organization was founded in 2008 by Lotte Davis who was born in South Africa and became acutely aware of the mistreatment and lack of opportunities for women. Since then, Lotte has worked tirelessly to find a way to impact gender inequality, specifically in underdeveloped countries such as Kenya. One Girl Can’s holistic business model — We Build. We Educate. We Mentor — aims to empower girls to become independent, confident and capable of taking control of their lives to effect positive change in their communities.

“We are so thrilled Shangri-La is supporting our cause to end gender inequality and raise funds to educate bright girls living in extreme poverty,” says Lotte Davis, CEO & founder of One Girl Can. “If we are ever going to truly move the needle on gender imbalance, we will need to help lift up women in underdeveloped countries, as well as in our own.”
