Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver has received the AAA Five Diamond Award® designation for 2014, the travel authority's highest rating for hotels and restaurants. This is the second consecutive year that the hotel has maintained this prestigious rating, and remains Vancouver's only Five Diamond designated hotel.
Properties at this level require experienced, highly qualified staff to provide the custom service today’s luxury hotel guest expects, according to AAA. These establishments deliver unmatched guest comfort with luxurious accommodations, extraordinary facilities and many personalized amenities.
“We are thrilled and honoured to receive the Five-Diamond recognition once again,” said Vito Romeo, general manager, Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver. “This award is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the team at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver, who show incredible initiative every day, going above and beyond to ensure every single guest feels welcome in our home.”
Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver is part of a select group representing the upper echelon of the hospitality industry in North America. Currently, just 125 hotels and 53 restaurants hold the AAA Five Diamond Rating.
“AAA Five Diamond establishments consistently exceed the expectations of the most discriminating traveler – the AAA inspector. They provide guests with a highly personalized, memorable experience in a luxurious setting,” said Michael Petrone, director of AAA Tourism Information Development. “AAA is pleased to recognize Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver with the Five Diamond Rating for the second year in a row.”
"Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver has again made our whole industry proud with the welldeserved AAA Five Diamond recognition," said Rick Antonson, CEO of Tourism Vancouver. "This is significant not only for the hotel but also for the city, as it underscores Vancouver as a luxury destination and demonstrates that the city can command occupancy and rate at the five-star level."
ABOUT AAA INSPECTIONS
AAA is the only rating system that conducts on-site professional evaluations guided by member priorities. And, with more properties than any other rating entity, AAA is the only rating system that covers the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. For 77 years AAA has used professional inspectors to conduct in-person property inspections and publish the results, on a system of One to Five Diamonds, to guide member travel decisions.
Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants are listed in AAA trip planning products: the eTourBook® guides and AAA Mobile® app for tablets and smartphones, the TripTik® Travel Planner and Travel Guides on AAA.com, and AAA TourBook® guides available at AAA/CAA offices.
