With New Year’s celebratory mood still residing
throughout the resort, Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa kicks off 2014
with a focus on truly celebrating, and maximising, the weekend. From jazz
nights to abundant brunches, the resort offers a series of fresh and exciting weekend
dining experiences, giving local residents and in-house guests something new to
look forward to come Thursday night.
Barbecue Jazz Nights at SultanahEvery Thursday, 7
to 11.30 p.m.
Guests are invited to unwind from the week with
Sultanah’s newly launched Barbecue Jazz Nights.
Taking place every Thursday at Al Husn’s exclusive fine-dining restaurant,
the weekly event offers a chance to sample expertly barbecued, premium seafood –
from fresh Omani lobster to a wide choice of freshly made sushi and sashimi –
premium meat cuts, such as Wagyu and Kobe, all to a backdrop of live acoustic
jazz. Sultanah’s unsurpassable views across Oman’s sparkling waters coupled
with the restaurant’s candle-lit tables create the ideal ambience and the meal is
paired with free-flowing bubbly, a selection of sommelier picks, soft drinks
Friday Brunch at Al Tanoor Every Friday, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Every Friday afternoon, Shangri-La will serve the
city’s ultimate weekend brunch. Relaxed,
fun and lively, Al Tanoor and the adjoining Sablah area will invite diners each
Friday to indulge in an interactive feast that showcases the best food and
beverage the resort has to offer.
Presenting six types of cuisine at a variety of live
cooking stations, these will feature everything from fresh lobster and oysters
to Iranian grills and freshly carved meats. There will be Italian signature
dishes from the resort’s innovative Italian restaurant, Capri Court, served alongside
a wide selection of seafood highlights from the resort’s Omani seafood
restaurant, Bait Al Bahr. Hearty salads,
freshly made juices and boosted smoothies will be available for guests wanting
to start the day on a healthy note and an extensive sushi and sashimi station
will be complemented by a made-to-order tempura corner. Diners in the mood for
a celebration may order free-flowing bubbly and those with a sweet tooth can
select from the delectable range of desserts to conclude their meal. Live entertainment
will change weekly as will unique entertainment activities.
At each Friday Brunch, children will be spoiled for
choice with a specially prepared Children’s Treat corner serving child-friendly
main courses, desserts, confectionery and candies. Parents may also leave their
little ones in the care of the resort’s Adventure Zone minders who will keep them
entertained with a host of fun-filled activities and games.
Daily Catch Experience at Bait Al Bahr Every Thursday, 4 p.m. (weather-dependent)
Following its popularity in 2013, this year, guests
staying at Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa are once again invited
to join the restaurant’s chefs as they greet the resort’s local fisherman at
the beach front area of Al Bandar to choose the finest, fresh fish for dinner
that evening. This year, guests may also take the opportunity to discuss
preferred flavours, weight and cooking method with the chefs and leave it to them
to prepare the chosen fish exactly as requested.
