Readers of Condé Nast Traveller have once again voted Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman one of the “Top Five Resorts in the Middle East.”
The annual Condé Nast Traveller Reader’s Choice Awards are well recognised around the world and are the result of a questionnaire completed by the magazine’s readers, who rate their favourite hotels, airlines and destinations. While voting, readers are asked to rate various criteria, such as service, culture and value for money. From the responses, the average mark on each criterion is calculated. The awards are now in their 25th year, and the number of voters this year was 46,476 readers.
The competition is always tough, as the awards recognise the very best in luxury travel. Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman was up against many of the region’s top resorts and is the only resort in Oman that made it to the list.
“It is heart-warming to be recognised by our guests and be chosen among the very best. There are many exceptional destinations and luxurious resorts in the Middle East and to stand out as one of the top five is an honour. I have a dedicated team at the resort that I am thankful to, and the team members have made our guests’ experiences remarkable,” said Mark Kirk, the general manager of the resort.
Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman is a three-hotel luxury resort that opened in February 2006. It has received various recognitions from Condé Nast Traveller throughout the years, including the Reader’s Choice Awards and the Gold List.
