Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Offers Lunar New Year Specialities

Lunar Year Specialities

 

From 8 January until 24 February 2013, Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is serving specially created set menus for the festive season. Chinese Executive Chef Tan Kim Weng has created five set courses of must-have dishes for the Chinese New Year celebration to usher in another prosperous year.


 

 

The eight-course Great Prosperity Set Menu features Salmon Fish Yee Sang; Steamed Jade Perch Fish with Olives in Black Bean Sauce; Stewed Sun-Dried Oyster with Sea Cucumber and Sea Moss in Oyster Sauce; and a Combination Platter of Roasted Duck and Honey Roasted Pork. The Great Prosperity Set Menu is priced at MYR168++ per person with a minimum booking for four people.


 

The Rich Fortune Set Menu includes dishes such as Kaori-Bako Yee Sang; Steamed “Soon Hock” Fish with Light Soya Sauce; Braised Freshwater King Prawn with Cheese; and Fried Rice with Waxed Meat, Yam and Dried Shrimps. The Rich Fortune Set Menu is priced at MYR298++ per person with a minimum booking for four people.

   

Braised Superior Shredded Sea Treasures Soup; Steamed Jade Perch Fish with Olives in Black Bean Sauce; Roasted Chicken with Fresh Herbs and Garlic; and Braised Freshwater Large King Prawn with Cheese and Superior Sauce are presented in the Happy Reunion Set Menu. The nine-course set menu is priced at MYR1,788++ per table of 10 people.


 

The Wealth Treasures Set Menu features dishes such as Stewed E-Fu Noodles with Shimeji Mushrooms and Minced Shrimps; Sweetened Ginger Juice with Sweet Potato and Rice Dumpling; Combination Platter of Crisp Suckling Pig and Jellyfish Flower; Braised Sliced Abalone, Sun-Dried Oyster and Sea Moss in Supreme Oyster Sauce. The nine course Wealth Treasures Set Menu is priced at MYR2,188++ per table of 10 people.


 

Jellyfish and Japanese Sweet Prawn Yee Sang; Braised Bird’s Nest Soup with Kaori-Bako; Roasted Crisp Whole Suckling Pig served with Pancake and Sweet Sauce; Braised Sliced Abalone, Sun-Dried Oyster and Sea Moss in Supreme Oyster Sauce; and Braised Crystal Noodles with Seafood and Crab Roe Sauce feature in the Immense Wealth Set Menu. The nine-course Immense Wealth Set Menu is priced at MYR3,388++ per table of 10 people.

   

In addition to the set menus, guests can enjoy dishes from the à la carte menu, such as Braised Bird’s Nest Soup with Kaori-Bako; Double-Boiled Fish Maw Soup with Farm Chicken and Morel Mushrooms; Dried Seafood Combination in Casserole; Braised Freshwater Large King Prawn with Cheese and Superior Sauce; and Australian Lobster Duet Preparation.
