Kuala Lumpur, 13 March 2014 - E. Guigal wines from the northern Rhone region in France will be paired with classic French cuisine in an exclusive dinner at Restaurant Lafite, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, on 27 March 2014.
Lafite’s chef de cuisine Jean Philippe de Guiard has risen to the occasion with a special five-course menu for these wines, some of the best labels from the E. Guigal stable.
The dinner will begin with Sushi-style Smoked Salmon and Lemon Cream, paired with Blanc, Saint-Joseph, Marsanne/Roussane, 2011. It is then followed by the Prawn Ravioli with Melted Leek, Bisque Sauce and Salmon Roe, paired with La Doriane, Condrieu, Voignier, 2012.
The course continues with Mushroom Soup, Smoked Duck Breast and Roasted Hazelnut, served together with Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre, 2006. Beef Tenderloin with Red Wine Sauce, Potato and Porcini Truffle will be served with Ex-Voto, Ermitage, Syrah, 2006 and La Turque, Cote-Rotie, Syrah/Voignier, 2008. It ends with Poached Pear in Red Wine, Pear Cremeux and Vanilla Ice Cream.
The E. Guigal wine dinner at Lafite is priced at MYR360++. Guests may also enjoy the E.Guigal wine tasting for only MYR60++ at Arthur’s Bar and Grill from 6pm – 7.30pm on the same day.
