Changchun, China, 10 March 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun welcomes Vincent Tian as general manager. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Tian held the position of resident manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian, a post he assumed in May 2012.
A native of Malaysia, Mr. Tian has over 21 years of hospitality operational and management experience. He spent the last 10 years in senior management positions at four Shangri-La group properties in Asia – Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu; Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao; Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou; and Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian. He joined the Shangri-La group in 1993, when he started his career in hotel management at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. He has been with the group for 21 years, during which he has accumulated rich and comprehensive hotel operations and management experience through his hard work and passion for the hospitality industry.
During Mr. Tian’s tenure at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu, the ASEAN summit was held at the hotel. As one of the hotel’s operating committee member for the summit, he led his team to successfully host and coordinate the dining and accommodation arrangements for the distinguished guests during their stay.
Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun was named one of the “Top 125 Asia Hotels” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in 2011 and one of the “Top 100 China Hotels” by the readers of Travel + Leisure for four consecutive years.
