As a member of the Shangri-La Hotel group, Traders Fudu Hotel, Changzhou always gives top priority to guests’ life and property safety, and attaches great importance to fire safety.
On the afternoon of 20 June 2013, Traders Fudu Hotel, Changzhou and the Changzhou Xinbei District Fire Squadron jointly held a large-scale fire drill. The fire squadron deployed four fire trucks, including one 54-metre elevating platform fire truck, and dozens of fire commanders for the exercise. They even performed a live demonstration of professional fire extinguishing action for the people. The exercise is the biggest event since the hotel’s opening.
At 2:30 p.m., when the evacuation broadcast sounded, the hotel began the fire control programme and organized guests and hotel staff for immediate evacuation. Under the guidance of the hotel staff, hotel guests and staff – a total of 215 people – evacuated to designated collection points quickly and orderly.
At the same time, simulating a real fire alarm situation, fire equipment was loaded onto the fire truck and the city's longest fire elevator was lifted up to 54 metres for the exercise. After collecting the people, the leader of the fire squadron carried on to review the fire drill. He gave affirmation of the hotel’s perennial adherence to the fire safety education of employees and fire drill organization, checking and ensuring the normal operation of the fire control facilities and equipment. In addition, he strongly praised the hotel employees’ fire fighting consciousness.
The Changzhou television station carried on the entire track shoot and carried out a comprehensive report of the hotel’s fire evacuation drill in the evening news.
