Shangri-La Hotel, Changzhou Successfully Holds Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Themed “Sharing Growth and Love”
Changzhou, China, 7 December, 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Changzhou successfully held its Christmas tree lighting ceremony, themed “share growth and love”.  Nearly 100 people composed of guests from top-management staff of foreign companies, in-house guests and media friends were in attendance.

The hotel hoped that parents would slow down and take care of the kids in dribs and drabs by participating in the games during the ceremony.  Children wrote down their wishes on the wish card and hung them on the Christmas tree.  Some of the wishes would come true because Shangri-La Hotel, Changzhou will open one of the wish cards on each memorable day in 2015 to realize it.

At 1:45 p.m., Christmas tree lighting ceremony was promptly held in the hotel’s Lobby Lounge.  With the melodious sound from the hotel choir, the activity began.  Thirty families were invited to participate in the ceremony in celebration of the Shangri-La brand’s 30 years in China.

Thirty years ago, the first Shangri-La hotel opened in the beautiful city of Hangzhou, starting the legendary hospitality in mainland China. Today, from Hangzhou to Hohhot, from Beijing to Lhasa, the Shangri-La group is honoured to have welcomed thousands of guests to the most wondrous destinations in the Middle Kingdom.  The only constant is Shangri-La’s service tenet: It’s In Our Nature.

In celebration of 30 years of Shangri-La hospitality in China, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is launching a once-in-30-years flash sale offering 30 per cent off the Best Available Rate at all 41 mainland China hotels.

All the guests witnessed the appearance of Santa Claus and an angel who counted down with everyone to light the Christmas tree symbolising the love and hope.

After the lighting ceremony, the hotel held some family interaction games.  Singer Cyril from the Philippines serenaded the guests.  All 30 families participated in the hotel’s executive chef’s creative DIY cake contest.  Mr. Lu acted as judge and picked winners based on different creative talents.  Hotel General Manager Zhao Dong awarded the winning families certificates and prizes.
