On March 29, Saturday, romance and enchantment debuted at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu as the city’s most elegant address for weddings reshaped love stories from special to extraordinary with Of Veils and Trails, a graceful wedding fair designed for beautiful beginnings in paradise.
Registered couples were taken on personally guided tours around the tropical haven as pictures of their perfect wedding were presented at the resort’s most sought-after bridal venues.
Dramatically Asian with its Chinese-themed décor, the Mactan Ballroom 3 added a touch of passion to nuptial celebrations with bold red accessories and striking gold accents.
Bedecked in rich colors, dynamic contrasts and traditional patterns, the Swarovski-detailed Mactan Ballroom 4 was all about the finishing touches in its Moroccan-themed setting of warm cinnamon red, saffron gold, cobalt blues, emerald greens and vivid orange.
Choosing the color of milk for a pure and pristine ensemble, the glass-enclosed Ocean Pavilion took on the power of white as it welcomed couples into its serene abode by the sea.
Seaside luxe was highlighted at the resort’s beachfront. Delicately graced with vibrant shades of green, the fresh hues blended perfectly with sail-white plates, natural wood and ivory accents.
Ornamented with a wealth of red roses and lush greens, beautifully spacious celebrations were accentuated at the scenic Ocean Terraces, while refined furniture, jewelry-like accessories, pale hues and tasteful lighting commanded elegance from floor to ceiling at the ivory-draped The Marquee.
A visit to the deluxe Bridal Suite with its panoramic view of the Mactan Channel’s turquoise waters completed the inspiring tour.
Guests were then ushered to The Marquee and treated to cooling cocktails and tasty nibbles selected from the resort’s wedding menus. Participating couples then engaged in a 60-minute sit-down with Cebu’s top wedding specialists, florists, hair and make-up stylists, pastry artists, decor providers, printers, photographers, videographers, and lights and sound experts.
The afternoon was fulfilled with 13 lucky couples winning privileged honeymoon stays at Shangri-La properties, such as Edsa Shangri-La, Manila; Makati Shangri-La, Manila; Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa, Philippines; Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo; Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, Kota Kinabalu; and Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, Singapore.
Dusk was welcomed with sophistication with the debut of the resort’s exclusive wedding video by renowned artiste Jason Magbanua and the unveiling of exquisite bridal couture by Cebu’s fashion artisans.
The lithe sashay down the catwalk featured classy and chic creations by Jun Escario, Mary Ty, Albert Arriba, Edwin Ao, Myrna Cebrecus, Protacio Empaces, Arcy Gayatin, Oj Hoffer, William Manahan, Yvonne Quisumbing, Philip Tampus, Marichu Tan, Cary Santiago and Philip Rodriguez.
Attended by 92 couples and perfected with the confirmation of 10 weddings, Of Veils and Trails was a blissful success. To thank them for choosing to celebrate their nuptials at the resort, couples who confirmed their wedding arrangements were given special savings on reception packages and several perks and benefits.
